James ‘Jim’ Patrick Caviezel, who is the first of five children, was born in Mount Vernon, Washington on the 26th of September, 1968. He attended a number of schools including Mount Vernon High School which he attended for two years before relocating to Seattle, Washington. Afterward, he went to an all-boys Catholic school – O’Dea High School – in order to play basketball. He then attended John F. Kennedy Memorial High School in Burien, Washington, another Catholic school where he also played basketball; he remained here till he graduated in 1987.
His education journey continued all the way to Bellevue College, where he played college basketball. Sadly, he suffered an injury to his foot while playing basketball in College and that dashed his hopes of playing in the NB. With basketball off the table, he focused on acting at the University of Washington, and he has not looked back ever since.
